My friends question my undaunting support for Ankita. I am referring here to indian idol contestant Ankita Mishra if you havent got it yet. Yes. I do support her simply because she is .... everything that i am not. Opposites do attract after all :-). She has spunk, she is naughty and more than everything else, she is intelligent !! This I believe has been proved time and again. Firstly when she made everyone realise her 'singing' talent by singing the bhajan "Tu Vishaal Hai", which made even judges sit up and take notice of her and she made her way to the galas. Second, her choice of songs .. "Babuji dheere chalna.... " and "Babuji zara dheere chalo ...". She bought a theme to her singing at the first chance she got.
To be frank, I had thought I will bid her good bye yesterday, because definitely i believed hers was a weak performance. But I was pleasantly surprised when Puja was voted out. [I have nothing against Puja. She sang really well but if thats the price for Ankita to remain on the show, I am all for it]. Anyways, time has come Ankita when you need to prove to the world once again what you are .... Let those who criticize you sit and take notice. My well wishes are with you .. always. For me you are the INDIAN IDOL.

I totally agree that Ankita is a great performer but one thing that I want to point out here is the basic purpose of the show. Is it that you are looking for a good voice (which is melodious enogh to please your ears) or is it that you looking for a complete package of a singer and a performer..
My view is that since of the show does not make a reference towrads "sur" or "taal" but simply says "Indian Idol", Ankita is a strong contender for the crown..
But somehow I have this strong feeling that although she has that capability of giving electrifying performances but voice quality is not very good..
If you like melodios music I would strongly recommend you to listen to Raja on Sa re Ga ma atleast once and you will know what voice quality is..

Ankita's continued presence is proof enough that half of our populace is music-deaf and that there is no sense in the indian masses (and in "elightened" souls like Gautam Motwani)
Not only does she not have strong vocals but also her so called "performances" are nothing more than charades put on the please the lowest common demoninator.
Puja's exit is honestly a big loss for a program which claims to find a complete package and not just a voice. Sadly enough i fear that many other and much more competent performers will have to suffer the same fate as Puja before "some" of us wake up to the absolutely undeniable taal-lessness of Ankita.

Well well...it is good to see so much space being devoted to Ankita, the only female contestant among the final four remaining in in the Indian idol. She is good.Period!.But good at the cost of so many things that she is bad at...and at the cost of the loss of so many things/people I liked. But there is something about her.Someone mentioned Saregamapa...or the Amul voice of India....True that the quality of singing displayed by the contestants there is superior to the ones in Indian idol. But then most of them lack what ankita has..and that is the whole point. She has oomph, unbelieveable amount of confidence...but more importantly, I know for a fact she knows singing...yes she does(remember the bhajan she sang ..ofcourse all the ankita fans including you would remember)...But it is not the only reason I want her to survive...I am supporting her simply because she is on her way to defy a trend that, by now, has started getting on my nerves-the fact that most of the winners, be it india idol or saregama or any other, are boys. Please enough of all that monotony..So, there is so much that has me going for her...All the best ankita.
